18 Bulakenyo athletes will compete in 30th SEA Games

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, Dec. 1 (PNA) — Eighteen young athletes in this province will compete for the gold medal in 10 sporting games at the 30th South East Asian (SEA) Games.

According to Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Olympian Jessie King Lacuna of Pulilan will lead a re-run of swimming held at the Aquatic Center, New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.

Lacuna has been recognized as the youngest Filipino athlete sent to the 2012 London Summer Olympics. He was also a silver medalist at the SEA Games 2009 held in Laos and at the SEA Games in Palembang, Indonesia in 2011. He will be joined by Miguel and Rafael Bareto of Guiguinto.

Vladimir Eguia of San Ildefonso and Jonjon Robles of Malolos will play Baseball. The Baseball game will be held at the Clark International Sports Complex at The Villages, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

Mika Reyes of Pulilan and Eya Laure of Norzagaray are part of the Philippines team for the Women’s Volleyball team to play at the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig.

Jack Danielle Animam of Malolos will be joining the Women’s Basketball national team held at the San Juan Arena in San Juan City.

For the Badminton-Doubles to be held at the Muntinlupa Sports Center, the Philippines will feature Chanelle Lunod of Bulakan, Paul Pantig of Guiguinto and Alyssa Leonardo of Meycauayan City. Leonardo will also fight in Badminton-Mixed.

Jaron Requinton of Santa Maria will play Beach Volleyball in Subic Bay.

James Darel Ordonia of Plaridel, Richard Salano of San Jose Del Monte and Raymond Alferos of Malolos will run in the Athletics game held at the New Clark City Athletic Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

In Fencing, Jolo Viceo of San Rafael will play at the World Trade Center- Metro Manila in Pasay.

Sisters Jam Eusebio and Nicole Eusebio of Pulilan will play at the Polo which will be held at the Inigo Zobel Polo Facility in Calatagan, Batangas.

In this regard, according to Jayson Vinta, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO), all the Bulacan athletes trained at the Bulacan Sports Complex are now fully equipped with modern facilities.
