2 escapees from Bulacan jail captured in Pampanga

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — After went into hiding for 49 days, two prisoners who bolted in the Bulacan Provincial Jail last April 2 were captured in Pampanga on Thursday (May 21), provincial warden (ret) Lt. Col. Marcos Rivero said.

Rivero on Friday afternoon (May 22) told RONDA BALITA Online that joint elements of Apalit police, Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Branch and Provincial Civil Security and Jail Management Office-Bulacan conducted a search and recovery operations after receiving information that the two inmates were ween in the vicinity of Barangay San Juan, Apalit, Pampanga.

The operatives arrested first fugitive prisoner Jeffrey Cervano, 26 years old, single, and resident of Brgy. Hipon, Caloocan City, was nabbed in Sitio Sto. Niño in the said town

Cervano was convicted of robbery and illegal possession of firearms and had been detained since January 10, 2014

After deliberations with Cervano, police was found out the other escapee Aris Camayo was hiding somewhere in Purok I, Brgy. Sucad, also in Apalit town.

Camayo, 26 years old, married from Meycauayan City and facing illegal drug charges and had been detained since May 26, 2014

“Casing and surveillance were immediately conducted and when the information was confirmed, follow-up operation was made which resulted in the arrest of the suspect,” Rivero said.

Rivero said the two inmates managed to escape at about 11:48 on April 2 by destroying the steel bars in the window of their cell. (RONDA BALITA Online)
