CAMP GENERAL ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan — Three armed men were arrested in a joint checkpoint operation conducted by the operatives of Bocaue and Bulacan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) 3rd Maneuver Platoon (MP) along the boundary of Brgy. Wakas, Bocaue and Brgy Wawa, Balagtas on Monday afternoon.
P/Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan Provincial Director identified the arrested suspects as Marlon Matignas alias Boyet, 55 years old, male, a carpenter, a resident of Blk 36, Lot 2, Grandvillas, Brgy. Loma de Gato, Marilao; Jordan Camargo alias Dan, 44, male, married, a resident of Little Baguio, Nico Marie Apartment, Brgy. Pandayan, Meycauayan and Jofrey Asajar alias Jepoy, 40, male, married, a resident of Smile City Home Sabarte, Quezon City.
Based on the report of P/Lt. Col. Rizalino Andaya, Bocaue police chief, they promptly conducted a checkpoint together with personnel of PMFC 3rd MP along Brgy. Wakas, Bocaue, Bulacan upon receipt of a report from 911 regarding armed men onboard a black Hyundai Tucson with plate no. ZMZ-801.
“The vehicle fled heading towards the direction of Balagtas when they were about to be flagged down. A brief chase ensued and Balagtas police was also informed to conduct a dragnet operation until the said vehicle was eventually cornered and finally flagged down in Brgy Wawa, Balagtas, Bulacan wherein the three passengers surrendered.,” Bersaluna said.
Confiscated from the suspects were 2 cal. 45 pistols; 1 cal. 9mm Parabellum pistol with serial no. B22548; 1 cal. 9mm Glock 17 USA pistol; 1 super 38 Llama pistol; 1 cal. 45 Norinco M1911A1 pistol; a Rifle Grenade; three small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu”; three barrel of cal. 45 pistol; assorted ammunition; a Black Hyundai Tucson with Plate number ZMZ 80; 2 pieces inside holster; 1 black bonnet and surgical mask; 4 pieces cell phone; assorted identification cards and cash money amounting to P10,500.
Bersaluna added that the arrested suspects are now under the custody of Bocaue MPS, while appropriate criminal complaints against them are being prepared for filing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, City of Malolos, Bulacan.
A further exhaustive investigation is being conducted by Bulacan police to determine the possible involvement of the arrested personalities in other crime incidents.
“Bulacan Police is continuously and relentlessly implementing its intensified campaign on Election Gun Ban as one of its preparation for the upcoming 2019 Midterm Elections to prevent and eliminate the use of unlicensed firearms in election-related violence and other criminal activities,” Bersaluna said.
