3 ‘dope peddlers’ killed, 10 others fall in Bulacan


CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Three allegedly dope peddlers were killed while ten more other drug suspects were arrested in an intensified anti-illegal drug operations conducted by Bulacan police on Wednesday (Aug. 14) and early morning of Thursday (Aug. 15).

Bulacan police director P/Col. Chito G. Bersaluna identified the 3 suspects who were killed during the drug operations as Mark De Guzman alias Mac, 29 years old and his cohort identified as a certain Christian Santos alias Tano, 25, both residents of J.P. Rizal St., Brgy. Sta. Barbara, Baliwag and Joeben Galicia alias Uben, 30, single, a resident of Sitio Little Baguio, Brgy. Poblacion also in Baliwag.

Bersaluna said that based on the report of P/Lt. Victorino Valdez, acting Plaridel police chief, after the consummated drug transaction in Brgy. Sta. Ines, Plaridel on Thursday at about 12:20 a.m., suspects De Guzman and Santos fired towards the police officers upon sensing that they were dealing with undercover agents that prompted the police officers to retaliate which resulted in the suspects’death.

Recovered in the crime scene were 19 pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing “shabu”; 2 calibers .38 shooter revolver, a digital weighing scale and buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, suspect Galicia on the report of P/Col. Abraham Hambon, Baliwag police chief, fired towards the drug enforcement personnel of Baliwag who were about to arrest him after a consummated drug deal in Brgy. Pinagbarilan on Thursday about 1:20 a.m. prompting the police officers to retaliate that resulted in the suspect’s death, while his unidentified cohort on board a black Yamaha Mio Soul escaped towards Brgy. Pagala in the said town.

Seized after the encounter was 1 caliber .38 Squires Bingham revolver, one deformed fired bullet, and buy-bust money. While seized illegal drugs are still to be determined by the Bulacan Crime Laboratory.

“Galicia is included in the Top Ten Sibat Target of Baliwag MPS and known for his involvement in the rampant selling of illegal drugs in Brgy. Pinagbarilan, Baliwag, Bulacan and other adjacent barangays,” Bersaluna added.

Moreover, Bersaluna said that ten other drug suspects were arrested in a series of anti-illegal drug raids conducted by Obando, Calumpit, Meycauayan, Pandi, Hagonoy, Bocaue, and Guiguinto police.

The following suspects who were arrested while caught in the act of selling illegal drugs to undercover agents were 1) Lambert Carbon alias Bert, 27 years old, included in the BADAC watchlist of Obando; 2) Danifer Cabague, 35; 3) Bob Aldrin Enriquez alias Dino, 35, included in the drug watch list of Meycauayan; 4) Ronnel Victor Brual alias Victor, 29; 5) Ronnel Crisostomo, 32, surrendered in Oplan Tokhang of Pandi; 6) Pedro Jose Sopeña alias Buda, 50, single, included in the PNP/PDEA Watch list; 7) Genaro Bondoc, 39, 8) Joshua Pagtalunan, 18, single and a resident of San Juan St., Brgy. Tuktukan, Guiguinto, Bulacan; 9) a 16-year-old male, included in the drugs watch list of Guiguinto; and a 10) 16-year-old female CICL.

Seized were twenty plastic sachets of “shabu”; two plastic sachets of dried “marijuana” leaves and buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory for appropriate examination, while criminal complaints for Violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of RA 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002) is being prepared for filing against them in court.
