CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Three alleged members of a drug syndicate were killed while 4 others were arrested by the San Jose Del Monte police in Brgy. Minuyan, CSJDM on Friday evening (June 26).

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan Provincial Director identified the neutralized suspects as alias Mateo, alias Francisco, and alias Karding while the arrested suspects were identified as Sarah Jane Padilla, 33 years old; Ivan Cabataña, 26; Rommel Paña, 21; and Jimuel Cos, 23.

Based on the report, the operation stemmed from a report of a concerned citizen to city police informing that there was a group of persons armed with unidentified firearms in Phase 4, Towerville Brgy. Minuyan, City of San Jose del Monte.

Thus, operatives of the Intelligence and Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of SJDM police immediately conducted a surveillance and validation operation which resulted in an armed encounter with the suspects as they sensed the presence of police operatives in said area.

“The suspects drew their firearms and fired towards the operatives who were approaching which prompted the latter to retaliate that resulted to the death of the suspects,” Cajipe said.

The other four suspects were arrested and seized from their possession 20 pieces of plastic sachets of suspected shabu.

Bulacan Scene of the Crime Operatives team processed the crime scene and recovered one improvised shotgun (sumpak), a caliber 9mm pistol with serial number 020-78970, one improvised handgun, and five pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
