3 killed, 8 arrested in Bulacan anti-drug operations


CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan –Three drug suspects were killed while eight others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted Wednesday (March 20) in this province.

Police Colonel Chito Bersaluna, director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified the three neutralized suspects as Ryan Daquiz, a former Oplan Tokhang surrenderer and included in the drug watch list of the Pulilan Municipal Police Station; Novem Jornales, a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño, Plaridel, Bulacan; and a certain alias “Bukol”.

Based on the report of P/Supt. Gil A. Domingo, Pulilan chief of police, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, about 2:15 a.m. at Purok 2, Barangay Tibag, Pulilan, operatives were able to transact with suspect Daquiz in a buy-bust operation.

Investigation showed that after the consummated separate drug transactions, the three suspects engaged undercover operatives in a shootout, prompting agents to retaliate and killed them in the process.

Recovered at the crime scene was one Armscor caliber .38 revolver, a black coin purse containing three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, three transparent plastic sachets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, Plaridel chief of police P/Supt. Satur Ediong reported that on the same day about 3:35 a.m. in Brgy. Bulihan in Plaridel, drug operatives of Plaridel conducted buy-bust operation against Jornales. After the consummated transaction, the suspect with his cohort sensed that they were transacting with police undercover.

In that instance, Jornales immediately drew his firearm and fired successively towards the operative and then boarded on a yellow Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle without plate number prompting. The operatives retaliated which resulted in the death of the suspects.

Recovered at the crime scene were 1 caliber 38 revolver, nine heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the buy-bust money. Recovered from Alias Bukol was a caliber 38 revolver without serial number loaded with two live ammo.

Bersaluna said the eight other suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations conducted in the towns of Obando, Angat, Baliwag, San Rafael, and Malolos City.

They were identified as Christopher De Leon y Domingo alias Tupe, 33 years old; Josefino Cruz y Aguilar alias Bungo, 42 years old, (included in the drug watch list of Angat); Princess Sweet Melody Cabardo y Delehensiya alias Princess Sweet, 35 years old; Margarita Perez y Rubio alias Ita, 40 years old; Nicolas San Gabriel y Quijano alias Nick, 60 years old; Julieta San Gabriel y Alquiroz alias Bebe, 39 years; Reynaldo De Leon y Umali (Tokhang Surrenderee and included in the drug watch list of San Rafael); and Christian Paraiso y Panganiban alias Patay, 34 years old

Confiscated from the arrested suspects during the operations were 15 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one motorcycle without plate number and buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination while the suspects are now facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
