PANDI, Bulacan — Politics in this town has been put aside where political leaders led by Mayor Enrico Roque and barangay officials showed their support to each other as they started distributing some 36,000 relief goods to households in twenty-two barangays due to Coronavirus (COVID- 19) outbreak.
Mayor Roque along with barangay officials and personnel of local municipality here on Saturday (March 21) distributed thousands of relief goods that were first delivered to Brgy. Bagong Barrio wherein social distancing during distribution was still being done.
The rest of villages will be next to have relief operation for the next 4 to 5 days.
Mayor Rico told RONDA BALITA Online that the relief operation was started around 9 a.m. wherein they knocked at the house using microphones telling the household members that a plastic bag containing rice, can goods and noodles would be left in front of their house and will only be picked by a family member after they had passed through.
“The good thing in it, is that.. the unity exists, not politics. Helping hands and sharing are the first thing that should be done,” Roque said.
Roque expressed his gratitude to all barangay captains who joined the activity and for their support and solidarity although the majority of his barangay captains were not in his side in the previous election.
Roque said, twenty-two villages will benefit the 36,000 relief goods that will personally bring by officials of the local municipality and barangays.
The mayor further said that everyone will have a chance to receive it wherein there will be also a so-called “share it” program where those who will waived their share can give it to whomever they want to have it.
