4 hurt as hoodlums smashed a congressional candidate’s brother’s car in Bulacan


CITY OF MALOLOS –Four persons, including a brother of a congressional candidate in the city of San Jose del Monte, were injured when hoodlums attacked the cars they were riding on Saturday afternnon.

Report reaching Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, identified the victims as Christopher del Rosario, a pastor in the said city, and three of his companions who were not yet identified.

Del Rosario is a brother of Irene del Rosario running as a congressional candidate for the Lone District of San Jose del Monte and a party mate of Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy Alvarado at the National Unity Party.

Initial reports said the victims were on board a Toyota Avanza that was stucked in a traffic in Barangay Muzon in the said city when a group of men approached them and with the use of a hammer strike the windshield and windows of the vehicle with a hammer causing it to break and injured those on board it.

The victims were brought to the Kairos Hospital in the city and later transferred to the District Hospital of San Jose del Monte.

On Friday afternoon, Irene del Rosario together with her political party mates in the city accused the civil security unit (CSU) of the local government unit of San Jose del Monte of abducting and detaining a without a search warrant and arrest warrant a political supporter before being turned over to the police station.

Former City Mayor Reynaldo San Pedro accused the city’s CSU as private army of incumbent mayor Arthur Robes and appeals to the Department of the Interior and Local government to look into the activities of the CSU that is headed by retired police Col. Pedro Ramos.

Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr., said that as of Sunday noontime, police are still establishing the identities of the attackers. (RONDA Balita Online News
