CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Five rape suspects including two minors were arrested by Meycauayan police in Brgy. Iba, in the said city on Monday early morning.
Bulacan police director P/Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, identified the arrested suspect as Charlito Estrada alias Burnok, 18 years old; Jerome Sanoyalias Dudong, 18; Jayson Baluya, 18 and two 17-year-old minor suspects while their victim (name withheld) is a 13-year-old, a Grade 7 student.
Based on the report of P/Lt. Col. Aquino B. Olivar, Meycauayan City chief of police, at around 9 p.m. on Sunday in Brgy. Iba, the victim, and her female friend went to the house of one of the suspects and had a drinking session together with the four other suspects.
“After a while, the victim’s friend went home and she was left alone together with the said suspects. The victim got intoxicated and fell asleep,” Olivar said.
The victim was awakened when she felt that someone was on top of her and abusing her sexually. She also heard noise on the surroundings and sensed that four other young men were watching and laughing while she was being sexually assaulted.
The report also stated that the victim did not recognize how many among the suspects had raped her since she was intoxicated and it was dark in the room where the incident happened.
The victim confessed to her aunt about the incident and reported to Meycauyan police who promptly responded and resulted in the arrested the five suspects in one of the minor suspects’ house.
“Criminal complaints for Violation of RA 8353 in Relation to RA 7610 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) against the arrested suspects were already filed before the court,” Olivar added.
