CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan, Nov. 1 (PNA) — Seven suspects in the road rage early Sunday morning that killed a 45-year-old lady were arrested in a follow-up operation by operatives of Hagonoy Police Station on Wednesday afternoon.
P/Sr. Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan Provincial Director identified the arrested suspects as Ezekiel Caparaz, 18 years old, Bryan Balatbat, 22, Dario Dela Cruz, 29, Jose Bernabe, 20, Jeffrey De Leon, 25, Rommel Nabong, 25, and Albert Martin, 22, while the victim is identified as Malou Victorio, 42 years old, resident of B1, L55, Manalo Street, Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.
“The road rage led to a stone-throwing incident when alias Jepoy’s tricycle and the victim’s vehicle nearly collided and the tricycle driver was allegedly hit by the SUV driver who eventually sought the assistance of fellow tricycle drivers and pursued the SUV,” Bersaluna said.
He added the victim’s husband alleged that they were victims of mistaken identity.
Investigation showed that the vehicle of the victim, a Mitsubishi Adventure with license plate UIP 202 and driven by her husband, was traveling along Barangay San Agustin, Hagonoy around 2 am when a suspect on board a motorcycle appeared in front of them and throw a rock that destroyed the glass of passenger window and directly hit the victim on the head while the other suspects following the victim’s vehicle also threw rocks at it.
The victim was rushed by her husband to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Malolos and later transferred to Quezon City General Hospital and later on declared dead by the attending physician.
Follow-up investigation and operation was conducted that resulted in the arrest of the suspects. Appropriate criminal complaints against the suspects are now being prepared for filing. (RONDA Balita Online News)
