Anderson, 9 others finish soldier training, receive rank of Private

CAMP TECSON, San Miguel, Bulacan — A team of actors, led by Gerald Anderson, finished a three-day Soldier Skills Orientation Training at the First Scout Ranger Regiment here on Friday (Aug. 9) in preparation for their upcoming show.

The Army Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto graced the event as the Guest of Honor and Speaker and also conferred the rank of private in the Army Reserve Component to Anderson, Elmo Magalona, Yves Flores, Nash Victoriano, Joseph Porciuncula, Ryan Laurino, Jeanifer Aniscal, Jumar Aniscal, Jalil Laidan, and Anthea Murfet.

In his speech, Anderson expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to train with the Scout Rangers. “Nakita namin ang kahalagahan ng mga ginagawa ng ating mga sundalo, nakakatulog kami ng mahimbing dahil sa inyo, dahil nandyan kayo para pangalagaan ang aming seguridad. Hindi namin makakalimutan ang mga aral na natutunan namin dito,” he added.

“Only those who have undergone a glimpse of the rigorous training of a soldier can understand and appreciate the great sacrifice that they give for the peace and stability of our country. Now that you are reservists of the Philippine Army, you also have taken on the responsibility to support our government in securing the peace and promoting the national development efforts. We ask you to help us in portraying our soldiers in the upcoming TV series that you will be a part of”, said Alberto.

“Bilang mga Army Reservists, kayo rin ang magsisilbing mabuting halimbawa sa ating mga kabataan na nagnanais ding maglingkod sa bayan”, he added. (RONDA Balita Online News)
