CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan — Nine security firearms of a company in this city was confirmed taken by an armed group on Wednesday.
Supt. Fitz Macariola, city police chief, confirmed that the company as Monte Grande Development Corp. located in Barangay Ciudad Real in the mountainous part of the city bordering Rodriguez, Rizal.
On Saturday, police operatives led by Macariola were able to reach the site to conduct patrol, inspection, and investigation on the said company that was allegedly raided by an armed group with at least 30 members wearing police vest and uniforms who allegedly introduced themselves as members of the New People’s Army (NPA).
“The group raided the said company around 11:00 am and took the service firearms of the security personnel of the company that includes five SAS 12 gauge shotgun, two M30 shotgun and two 9mm Armscor pistol and fled toward Rodriguez, Rizal around 3:00 p..m the same day,” Macariola said.
“Immediate investigation on the incident was hampered as the security officers of the company failed to report the incident to the police,” Macariola added.
Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, regional police director for Central Luzon, said that they are still validating if the armed men are really members of the NPA.
On the other hand, the Communist Party of the Philippines posted on their web site identifying the armed group as belonging to the NPA forces in Mt. Sierra Madre-Southern Tagalog under Rosario Lodronio Rosal Command (RLRC-NPA-Mt. Sierra Madre-Southern Tagalog Sub-Regional Command) and congratulated them “ in their successful raid against the armed goons of Chinese tycoon Lucio Tan in Barangay Ciudad Real, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.”
The said company, the CPP said was “ involved in the land grabbing of 77 hectares of land owned by the farmers in the said barangay.”
It added, “This action should serve as a warning to others big landlords and oligarchs the NPA won’t let the oppressed ng farmers and the Filipino People.” (RONDA Balita Online News)
