Bulacan cops join in 34th International Coastal Cleanup Day

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — As part of the continuous restoration of the beauty of Manila Bay, Bulacan police headed by P/Col. Chito G. Bersaluna joins in the 34th International Coastal Clean-Up Day at Barangay Ubihan, Meycauayan City on Friday.

The cleanup, dubbed “Battle for Litter-Free Seas”, aims to encourage Filipinos to help in cleaning coastal areas, rivers, and other waterways of trash and debris.

The volunteers from the different sectors of government brought their cleaning materials, gloves, and sacks in removing trash in the foreshores areas of Barangay Ubihan.

The said activity was graced by the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) headed by Ms. Elizabeth M. Apresto, Department Head BENRO of DENR, Local Government Units (LGUs), government agencies, BPATS and PNCOs from the Police Community Affairs and Development (PCAD) of the different city and municipal police stations including police personnel from the Provincial Headquarters of Bulacan PPO.

“Bulacan PNP will continue to adhere and carry out one of its core values be a “MAKAKALIKASAN” and an organization who fosters for environmental protection and preservation,” Bersaluna said.

Presidential Proclamation No. 470 declares the third of September of each year as the ICC Day in observance of the Global Coastal Clean-up celebrations. (RONDA Balita Online News)
