CITY OF MALOLOS – Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director, has reminded all chief of police (COP) in the province to be on heightened alert for possible modus operandi of criminal groups especially this yuletide season.

The warned was made after armed suspects wearing security guard uniforms robbed an armored van of more than P6 million of cash on Friday night in Balagtas town and its driver killed.

The van was to make cash collection of  Robinson mall and when the security driver was left alone in the van the suspects made their move and hijacked the vehicle and brought to a secluded area in Barangay Burol in Balagtas town and carted away its cash and shot dead its driver.

Caramat said the armored car heist was completed when the suspects were able “to deceive  the driver and gained entry which is not allowed on the armored van.”

He also noted that the suspects “have the key at the back of the armored van, only the security escort is supposed to have the key,”

The suspects “know the number combination of the vault inside, only the bank or assigned teller knows the combination,” Caramat added.

With these, Caramat has reminded all police chiefs on appropriate measures and proper coordination to counter criminal modus operandi.
