CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) organized a group of fire marshal through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) showcased their capability on disaster response and first aid management during the Earthquake Drill held in front of the Provincial Capitol Building, in this city on Friday.
In the said earthquake drill, employees and clients of the PGB performed the life-saving duck-cover-and-hold maneuver staged at 9 am with a magnitude-8 intensity earthquake scenario while being directed and assisted by the PGB marshals.
The activity, according to Felicisima Mungcal, PDRRMO head, was aimed to evaluate the readiness and competence of the PGB marshals in responding to disaster and emergency situation particularly by giving first aid as well as in the command and control of an Incident Command System organization after the two-day First Aid at Work Training at the PDRRMO Training Room held last July 3-4, 2019.
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando congratulated the team and the PDRRMO for holding the event and preparing not only the marshals but also the capitol employees of the necessary measures to be observed during emergencies especially earthquake.
He added that the said group will be of great help to PDRRMO in diminishing tension and panic if and when an emergency comes.
“When there are such situations, people are rapidly popping up, often making it impossible to think good and hurt, even more destructive, so with the help of marshal with PDRRMO together with remembering to calm down and Follow the instructions to us when there is an emergency, in that way we can save lives,” Fernando said.
The fire marshals/ trained first aiders were very thankful for the said opportunity to be a part of the lifesavers group in the province. (RONDA Balita Online News)
