Bulacan Police Office launches ‘Honesty Store’ and ‘Gulayan ng Pulis’

CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan –Launched on Monday its “Honesty Store” and “Gulayan ng Pulis” project as it observed the 107th birth anniversary of Gen. Alejo S. Santos from where the police camp’s name was taken.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Acting Provincial Director of Bulacan explained that the “Gulayan ng Pulis” is part of the PNP motto “Pulis Makakalikasan” and has issued gardening tools to police operatives to combat the weeds and toil the backyard lot of the police provincial headquarters to have its vegetable plots ready.

The said project will be replicated in all the police stations in Bulacan and its vegetable harvests will be donated to less fortunate families, Bersaluna pointed out.

Meanwhile, Bersaluna said that P/Supt. Ferdinand Germino, Force Commander of the 1st Bulacan Provincial Mobile Force Company, has opened its first “Honesty Store” in front of its building inside the police camp.

“The store’s concept is to practice in real life the virtue of honesty and integrity,” Bersaluna added.

The store offers assorted goods, wherein customers can take what they need and leave their payment in a small container and is open Monday thru Friday from 8 am till 5 pm and its proceeds will be used to sustain the unit’s community immersion programs as well as outreach projects specifically the elderlies of Tahanang Mapagpala (Home for the Aged) located in Barangay Bulihan in Malolos as its main beneficiary.

“That it is essential for every police officer to make honesty as a habit and also make integrity as part of police good moral values,” Bersaluna explained.

Operatives at the Bulacan provincial police office temporarily lay down their firearms yesterday (Monday) morning to have their hands soiled in preparing vegetable plots for their “Gulayan ng Pulis” project that would benefit less fortunate families in the community.

Meanwhile, Bulacan police commemorate the 107th Birthday of General Alejo S. Santos to signify the police gratitude and giving of honor to the former general.

The celebration includes the wreath laying in front of the monument of General Alejo S. Santos inside the provincial headquarters. The event was graced by one of the late general’s children Mrs. Liberty Santos-Dumlao, together with the World War II Veterans from Bustos, Bulacan. (RONDA Balita Online News)
