CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan has approved the six billion peso budget of the Provincial Government of Bulacan for the year 2021.

According to Governor Daniel R. Fernando, the outlined Provincial Development Plan is where the allocated fund will be prioritized.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan presiding officer Vice Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado said that from the 5.7 billion peso provincial budget in 2020, it increased to 6-billion due to the increase in per capita income.

“The six billion peso budget will allocate the social services sector worth 2.4 billion pesos followed by 2.2 billion pesos for the general services of the Capitol,” Alvarado added.

A total of 1.2 billion pesos has been allocated for the economic recovery of Bulacan.

The governor also further explained that larger funding in the social services sector is for the Capitol’s stronger response against COVID-19.

The ongoing operations of the Bulacan Infectious Diseases Control Center, Bulacan Molecular Diagnostic Testing Laboratory, Gene Expert Laboratory, and the formation of the Provincial Contact Tracing Team will be funded specifically.

The social services fund includes the further improvement of the service of the hospitals run by the Capitol.

The Capitol Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund is at 282.9 million pesos, 146 million pesos for various projects to care for the poor Bulakenyos implemented by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, and 86 million pesos for the Provincial Health Office.
