Bustos Dam releases irrigation water

CITY OF MALOLOS. Bulacan — Bustos Dam has already started releasing irrigation water for Bulacan farmland.

Josephine Salazar, regional director of the National Irrigation Administration, has confirmed to RONDA Balita Online News that the said dam has already started releasing irrigation supply to Bulacan farmlands since July 16.

However, the release of irrigation water is based on the available local flow of the Angat River system and not from those coming from Angat Dam.

Angat Dam only releases water allocation for irrigation purposes when its water elevation is at its minimum operating level of 180 meters and above.

When the dam’s water elevation reaches its 180-meter level the allocation for irrigation purposes is usually cut off depending on the discretion of the National Water Resources Board. (RONDA Balita Online News)
