Carjacking and murder suspect in Pasay arrested in Bulacan


CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – A murder and carjacking suspect in Pasay City was arrested in the City of Malolos on Wednesday, Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director said on Thursday.

Cajipe identified the suspect as Michael Jeck Pon-an, a resident of Dream Crest Homes, Barangay Longos in this city while the victim was Aldrin Reyes, residing at Unit Room 10, Gulla Apartment, P-35-09 6th/9th Street, Villamor Barangay 183, Pasay City.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was murdered between the night of July 13 and early morning inside his apartment and was only discovered by his brother on July 14 and the victim’s Honda City car was missing.

The suspect was a person of interest until police operatives conducting follow-up investigation chanced Pon-an and his sister, Michelle Angela, on board the victim’s car along MacArthur Highway in Malolos on Wednesday and flagged them down.

Instead of slowing down, the suspect deliberately bumped the two operatives of the Pasay City Police Station and Malolos police personnel gave a hot pursuit chase and cornered the fleeing suspects at Dream Crest Homes Village in Malolos that resulted in their arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicle.

“Later in the night, Salvador Pon-an Jr., father of the murder suspect voluntary turned over the personal belongings of the victim that include P26,520.00, USD 200.00 cash, several credit and debit cards,” Cajipe said. (RONDA BALITA Online)
