COMELEC, PNP Oplan Baklas nets 37,436 campaign materials


CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — As the campaign period ends today, May 11, a total of 37,436 illegal campaign posters were removed on the stretch in major thoroughfares and barangays roads during the previous clearing operations conducted by COMELEC, PNP and other partner agencies within the region.

Most campaign materials that were removed were oversized and were posted in prohibited areas, like electric lines and trees.

PRO3 Regional Director P/BGen. Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said that “it is a region-wide activity spearheaded by the COMELEC with the different agencies including the PNP. We are there to provide security assistance every “Oplan Baklas” operations.”

“We have always been non-partisan and we continue to implement our mandate to ensure of a safe and credible electoral process,” he added. (RONDA Balita Online News)
