Cop injured as drunk driver rams quarantine choke point in Bocaue

BOCAUE, Bulacan — A policeman was injured when a drunk motorcycle driver smashed into a quarantine choke point in Barangay Lolomboy here on Tuesday night (June 23).

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan Provincial Director identified the victim as Patrolman Leo Jehrico Santos assigned at the Bocaue police Station and the drunk motorcycle driver as Michael Kayson Amador.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was manning the quarantine chokepoint when Amador who was on board a red Kawasaki Rouser 135 motorcycle with license plate BD 13201 was traveling from Marilao town towards Bocaue smashed into the chokepoint barriers, signage and eventually right straight to the policeman who sustained a contusion on the right lower leg and swollen right arm.

Both were rushed to the Rogaciano Mercado Memorial Hospital in Santa Maria town for treatments.

Criminal complaints for Reckless Imprudence Resulting to (RIR) Physical Injuries and Damage to Property Violation of R.A 11332, R.A 10856, and RA 4136 against the arrested suspect are now being prepared for filing in court.
