‘Dope peddler’ killed, 17 others fall in Bulacan buy-bust


CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan — A drug pusher was neutralized, while seventeen other suspects were arrested during the province-wide anti-illegal drug operations conducted by Bulacan police on Thursday (Sept. 29) and Friday (Sept. 19).

P/Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Provincial Director of Bulacan identified the fatality during the buy-bust operation conducted by the Santa Maria police in Brgy. Bagbaguin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at about 10 pm as Jonee Batongbakal alias Bakal, single, jobless, a resident of Brgy. Bagbaguin in the said town and included in the drug watch list of Santa Maria police.

Based on the report of P/Lt. Col. Carl Omar C. Fiel, Santa Maria police chief, after a consummated drug deal, alias Bakal and his unidentified cohort fired towards the local Drug Enforcement Operatives (DEU) upon sensing that they were dealing with an undercover police agent, which prompted the operatives to retaliate that resulted in the suspect’s death.

However, his unidentified cohort managed to escape on board an unknown motorcycle towards the direction of Bocaue, Bulacan.

Recovered were five pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu” one cal. 38 revolver, and P500 buy-bust money.

Further, the suspect was involved in several cases of robbery and theft within the area. He was released after posting bail for the case of Attempted Robbery.

Likewise, Bersaluna said that seventeen other drug suspects were arrested in different anti-illegal drug operations conducted by Obando, Meycauayan, Malolos Pandi, Plaridel, Guiguinto, Bocaue, and Baliwag police.

They were identified as 1) Jezen Salut alias Jezen, 22 years old; and 2) Rome Jovi Yumang, 25, both are included in the Barangay Anti- Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) drug watch list of Obando MPS; 3) Allan Bartolome alias Palayok, male, 44; 4) Ferdinand Sarondo alias Banog, 43; 5) Luisito Chico alias Louie, 48; 6) Jimmy Sarondo alias Puroy, 40; and 7) Jonathan Bueta alias Atan, 29; 8) Abel Paguiligan, 49; 9) John Ric Hilario, 21; 10) Joel Oboy alias Joel, 42, included in the BADAC drug watchlist of Pandi MPS; 11) Rogelo De Castro alias Bonyok, 28, included in the BADAC drug watchlist of Pandi MPS; 12) Roel Caraskal alias Kulot, 33; 13) Ray Jason Urmatan alias Jason, 24; 14) Randy Sibug, 29, included in the PNP-PDEA unified watch list of Bocaue MPS; 15) Renier Allen Cruz alias Allen, 32, included in the PNP-PDEA unified watch list of Baliwag MPS; 16) Rose Marie Capiral alias Marie, 46; and 17) Arnold Gracela alias Ton Ton, 31 years old.

Seized were thirty-eight pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets of “shabu”, two (2) heat-sealed plastic sachets of dried “marijuana” leaves; buy-bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory for appropriate examination, while criminal complaints for Violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of RA 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002) is being prepared for filing in court.
