Drug peddler killed, 7 others arrested in continuing anti-drug ops in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan — Bulacan Police Provincial Office has been continuing anti-drug operations in different towns that resulted to the killing of a drug peddler while 7 other suspects were arrested on Monday (Feb. 11), P/Sr. Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director reported.

Bersaluna identified the slain suspect as Gilbert Cristobal, Alias Gilbert, 41 years old, married, tricycle driver, a resident of number 321 Brgy. Caysio, Sta. Maria, Bulacan during the buy-bust operation in Brgy. Guyong, Sta. Maria on Tuesday at about 1:10 a.m.

Based on the report of Supt. Carl Omar Fiel, Santa Maria police chief, the suspect fired successive shots towards the police officers to resist arrest after the consummated drug transaction, which prompted the law enforcers to fire back that resulted to the suspect’s death.

Recovered were 11 pieces plastic sachets of “shabu”; 1 cal. 38 revolver without trademark and serial number; 1 black holster; a black wristwatch, buy-bust money and one black Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle with sidecar and plate number QN 6923.

Moreover, Bersaluna said that 7 other drug suspects were arrested in a different anti-drug sting conducted by Angat, San Miguel, Marilao, Bustos, Baliwag.

They were identified Francis Santos; Arnold Esguerra, formerly surrendered in Oplan Tokhang and included in the Drug watch list San Miguel MPS; Emiliano Victorino San Jose, included in the Drug watchlist of Marilao MPS; Romulo Dantis; Nelson Dela Cruz y Lopez included in the Drug watchlist of Bustos MPS; Reynald Salmo, included in Drug Watch List Personality of Baliwag MPS; and Olivia Granil.

Confiscated were twenty-one pieces of transparent plastic sachets of “shabu” and buy-bust money.

“The seized pieces of evidence and arrested suspects were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination, while criminal complaint for Violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of RA 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002) is being prepared for filing in court,” Bersaluna added.
