CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — A drug suspect was neutralized while eleven other suspects were arrested in different operations conducted by Bulacan police on Tuesday (Feb. 11) and early Wednesday morning (Feb. 12).
P/Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, acting Provincial Director of identified the neutralized suspect as Nelson Pecho y Dela Cruz, 30 years old and a resident of Brgy. Sta Lucia old, San Miguel, Bulacan.
Based on the report, operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of San Ildefonso conducted a buy-bust operation against Pecho with his cohort in Brgy Pinaod, San Ildefonso on Wednesday at about 12:30 a.m.
After the consummated transaction, the suspects became suspicious that they are transacting with the police. In that instance, Pecho drew his gun and fired towards the operatives who retaliated. Pecho sustained gunshot wounds that caused his instantaneous death while his cohort managed to escape.
Recovered from the crime scene were one caliber.38 revolver without serial number loaded with two live ammunition, two empty shells of cal. 38 and three empty shells of caliber 9mm. and twelve plastic sachets of shabu.
Meanwhile, different buy-bust operations were conducted by the SDEU of Baliwag, San Rafael, Hagonoy, Obando, Marilao and Santa Maria that resulted in the arrest of eleven (11) suspects identified as Oliver Ileto, Jhanus Ira, Ricky Santos, Matthew Cruz, Nick Deato, Jomar Bernal Dawal, Alejandro Fernandez Mallari, Aljon Lapso Baldeviezo, Mark Jimbert Sabasa, Jomar Palungbarit, and a 16-year-old female suspect.
A total of 29 plastic sachets of shabu, three plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects during the operations. (RONDA BALITA Online)
