CITY OF MALOLOS – An unidentified holdupper was killed on Wednesday night in Santa Maria town.
Supt. Raniel Valones, Santa Maria police chief, reported to Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., police director of Bulacan, that the suspect together with another cohort held up and forcibly took the cash money and cellular phone of Rubylina Gumasing, a vendor, and resident of Km 39, Barangay Pulong Buhangin in the said town on that day.
The victim immediately reported the matter to the police station and a follow-up operation was conducted and sighted the suspects who fled in different directions in the riverside of Barangay Poblacion.
The unidentified suspect engaged the police operatives in a gunfight and was eventually neutralized while his cohort was able to flee on board a motorcycle, Valones said.
Valones added that investigators recovered from the encounter site a .38 caliber revolver and two plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
