CABANATUAN CITY – Authorities have confiscated illegally cut lumber and seized rebel logistics in Nueva Ecija on Sunday (Sept. 13).
Col. Marvin Joe Saro, Nueva Ecija police director, said the “hot” lumbers were discovered along the Sumacbao River in Barangay Pias, Gen. Tinio town during an illegal logging operations by joint elements of police, Philippine Army and the community environment and natural resources office (CENRO) of Palayan City.
The illegal logging operations led to the confiscation of 7,000 board feet of abandoned illegally cut lumber with an estimated market value of P315,000 that were brought to CENRO Cabanatuan City for proper disposition.
On the other hand, combined police and Philippine Army operatives have discovered and seized rebel logistics in Barangay Labi, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija also on Sunday.
Reports reaching Saro said the logistics that were found and discovered include six gallons of rice, a power galvanometer/ blasting machine and an improvised remote galvanometer firing device from two different grid coordinates.
The discovery and seizures of the rebel logistics were brought about by an intelligence-driven operations and operating troops are still in the area scouring and searching for possible enemy presence within the adjacent areas, the report added. (RONDA BALITA Online)
