CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Out of 11 competing floats from the towns and cities of Bulacan, the “Karosa del Pilar” float with the theme “Tahanan ni del Pilar” from the town of Bulakan was hailed as the most outstanding float during the awarding of the Parada ng Karosa held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on Saturday (Sept. 14).

Adorned with handwoven mats colored in blue, white and red, the ‘Tahanan ni del Pilar’ float symbolizes humbleness, which is known to all Bulakenyos.

Also, Hari ng Bulakan Ceejay Padua portrayed Gen. Gregorio del Pilar while riding a horse statue placed above the float together with his partner Reyna ng Bulakan Andrea Faye Celine B. Rivera, which resulted to having the highest score of 91.25% and won a P100,000 cash prize and a trophy.

The town of Bocaue’s float “Ang Karosa ng Kawayang Bokawe”, decorated with Bokawe bamboo, stock hay, and fern leaves, won second place with a score of 90.5% and received P70,000 and a trophy. Hari at Reyna ng Bocaue Hernan N. Abraham and Dianella Louis P. Loya also rode the float and portrayed the myth of Malakas and Maganda.

Landing on the third place was “Estacion De Guiguinto” from the town of Guiguinto with a score of 88.75% and received P30,000 and a trophy wherein the float depicted the old train station in the town with various plants on its side together with their Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban candidates George Ian O. Puno and Marshy A. Chaudhry.

Meanwhile, three floats received consolation prize worth P5,000 namely ‘Karosa ng Marilao’ from the town of Marilao, ‘Indakan sa Calumpit’ from the town of Calumpit and ‘Palaisdaan Festival’ from the town of Hagonoy.

Benjo Cruz, tourism officer from Bulakan, also expressed his gratitude for the Provincial Government of Bulacan for giving them a chance to showcase their town’s culture and tourism.

“Kami po ay taus-pusong nagpapasalamat dahil itinanghal na best float ang aming ‘Karosa ni Plaridel’. Para ito sa ating bayan upang lalong makilala ang culture and tourism lalo na po’t parating sa ating lalawigan ang isang malaking development,” he said. (RONDA Balita Online News)
