“I’ve been asked many times through the years what my view is about LGBT, and I’m truly perplexed why that continues to be a media concern. Media should focus on real concerns like lack of patriotism and discipline; persistent corruption, injustice, poverty, insurgency, drugs proliferation,” pahayag ni Alunan

“So what’s the fuss all about?” tanong pa niya.

“The Catholic Church is a conservative institution and would say NO. Being a Catholic, I answered NO because I know it would not meet the Church’s approval. Just a plain fact. If the question was: Are you in favor of same sex union? I’d have said YES from the perspective of two people in love and obtaining the legal right to unite in a civil ceremony conducted by any authorized representative of the government. The government is the people’s agent that serves ALL 106-million Filipinos, Catholic and non-Catholic,” giit ni Alunan.
