CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan — Governor Daniel R. Fernando urged Boy/Girl Officials, the future leaders of the country, to change the system of government during the ‘Lunch with the Governor’ as part of observation of ‘Linggo ng Kabataan’ held at the Balagtas Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city recently.
“Baguhin na natin ang sistema ng pamahalaan. ‘Yung mga mali, huwag na ninyong gayahin bagkus ay gumanap sa tungkulin ng naaayon sa batas ng tao at batas ng Diyos,” Fernando said.
Also, he encouraged the young leaders to not follow the footsteps of politicians who only won because of vote-buying.
“Huwag kayong gumaya sa mga taong nananalo because of giving money. Huwag ninyo ng manahin ang bulok na sistema sa gobyerno,” the governor said.
The provincial chief executive also shared his experience as a young leader wherein in his younger years, he became the top leader of Kabataang Barangay Group (KBG), which is known today as the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK).
He was proud to say that during his time, the appointed SK officials underwent quality control before they can hold public office.
“Dati ina-appoint ang SK, hindi ini-elect. Dati sinu-survey ‘yan, dumadaan sa quality control,” Fernando said.
He also told the young leaders that they should be ready and prepared should they choose to serve the province in the future.
“If you are willing to serve the Bulakenyos, kailangang handa kayo sa mga nakalatag na responsibilidad. Whether you like it or not kapag tinawag kayo ng destiny, kayo na ang nakatadhana d’yan,” he said.
Meanwhile, Girl Provincial Administrator Diana Rose Bañas said that it was a big opportunity to have a luncheon meeting with the governor and be able to hear his inspirational message.
“Isang malaking opportunity sa aming mga Boy/ Girl Official na makasama si gob. sa isang tanghalian. Tunay pong nakaka-inspire ‘yung mensahe niya para sa amin at marami po kaming natutunan sa isang linggong pamamalagi namin sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan,” Bañas said.
Prior to the said lunch, the Boy/Girl Officials together with the governor visited some offices in the Provincial Capitol including Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO), Pasalubong Center at the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO).
