CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 3 thanked Bulacan for its unwavering support in the promotion of their programs during the Araw ng Lingkod Lansangan held on Monday (Sept. 9) at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
LTFRB Enforcement Head Jesus Sison, a representative of LTFRB Region 3 Director Ahmed Cuizon, said that the province has helped their department in many ways possible in order to fully implement their programs and disseminate information to where it should be communicated.
Included in the implemented programs are the continued promotion of the Provincial Government of Bulacan on Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program, support in the implementation of Pantawid Pasada Program and lending of facilities for the Driver’s Academy.
“Natapos na po ang Pantawid Pasada Program. Ang accomplishment ng opisina ay 90 percent na cards ang naipamigay natin, siguro po nasa bilang na 20,000 cards. Dito din po isinagawa ang first launching ng modern PUV na consolidation ng franchise, ito po ‘yung sa kooperatiba,” Sison said.
He added that he is in one with the PGB in giving recognition to drivers and operators because he is also aware of their hard work and sacrifices in bringing their passengers to and from their destinations daily.
The program was graced by the Department of Transportation Public Utility Vehicle Program Head Kent Avestruz, Board Secretay Ramil Urreta of Office of Transportation Cooperative, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, who rendered a song to the delight of the attendees, BFJODA President Nestor Alonzo and BFJODA Vice President Billy Tatil.
“Hindi po madali ang maging driver lalo pa’t araw-araw eh nasa lansangan sila. Gayunpaman, patuloy nila itong ginagawa ng may malasakit at pag-iingat sa kanilang mga pasahero at pagsisikap para naman sa kanilang mga pamilya. Mabuhay po kayong mga lingkod lansangan,” Fernando said.
Meanwhile, winners of the JODA Got Talent Singing Contest was Roberto De Guzman, first placer and took home P5,000; Ponciano Dela Cruz, second placer and received P3,000 and Rady Manandic, third placer and took home P2,000 while the 18 non-winner participants got P1,000 consolation prize each.
