THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is suspending the dry run of the provincial bus ban along EDSA.
SC urged to halt MMDA ban on provincial bus terminals along EDSA
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said the dry run is temporarily halted, pending a meeting of officials of the MMDA, transportation department, and Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board.
“We will continue with the dry run once the guidelines and implementing rules have been ironed out by the three agencies involved,” Garcia said.
Further, according to Garcia, MMDA does not want the policy to be politicized at this time when politics is too dominant because of the coming elections.
He clarified that the strict enforcement of the no loading and unloading along EDSA for provincial buses will remain in effect.
The provincial bus ban is a result of MMC Regulation Number 19-002 revoking/canceling the business permits of all provincial bus terminals along EDSA approved by the Metro Manila mayors last March.
