SAN JOSE CITY, Nueva Ecija – Murder cases were filed against Cpl. Harold Culala and his alleged cohort Eugene Cayabyab for the recent killing of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) forest ranger Ronaldo Corpus.
Lt. Col Heryl Bruno, police chief of San Jose City Police Station in Nueva Ecija, has confirmed to RONDA BALITA Online that the duo is now charged with murder cases and claimed that their other alleged cohort Ariel Andrade alias Amber, when apprehended, has also admitted participation in the killing on September 12 this year of Gaudencio Arana, a volunteer forest ranger in the Pantabangan watershed in Nueva Ecija.
However, Andrade grappled for the gun on one of his police escorts early November 1 while on his way for a medical checkup and was eventually killed in the scuffle.
Andrade was a member of a gun for hire group and has been involved in several shooting incidents in Nueva Ecija and Bulacan, Bruno noted.
Meanwhile, forest rangers, who does not want to be identified, have raised their concerns on the participation of other policemen involved in illegal logging activities in the watershed of Pantabangan.
A forest ranger claimed that a police official is said to be very antagonistic on DENR personnel “at binilinan pa raw ang kanyang mga Tauhang PNP na kapkapan ang mga DENR operatives anti-illegal logging unit kapag dumaraan ng Pantabangan. Di daw siya naniniwala na walang armas ang DENR na iligal. Ano motibo nya para pag-isipan po na may baril ang mga DENR operatives?”
Police personnel has also the guts to post “for sale” on the social media the forest finished products that they have, the forest ranger added. (RONDA BALITA Online)
