CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Nearly P20 million worth of marijuana bricks and leaves with fruiting tops were seized by authorities during anti-illegal drugs operations in Tarlac on Thursday (Feb. 18).
PRO3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon said that joint operatives of Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Tarlac PPO, PNP PDEG, PDEA Tarlac and Concepcion MPS conducted an anti-illegal drug operation in San Francisco, Concepcion, Tarlac which resulted in the arrest of six persons.
RD De Leon identified the arrested suspects as Marlon Miranda, a high-value individual and a resident of Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga Province; Jeoy Palaeyan, high value individual and a resident of Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga Province; Freddie Letta a resident of 2456 Pasig Line St., Sta Ana, Manila; Carl Andrei Maico, a resident of 498, Diliman St., Quezon City; Via Jean Ortiga, resident of Palanit, San Isidro, Northern Samar and Lorraine Fulgencio, a resident 16 T. Alonzo, Project 4, Quezon City and confiscation of a total of 163 pieces of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing approximately 163kilos with an estimated street value of P20,000,000; five pieces P1,000 with UV dust powder used as buy-bust money together with 145 pieces of boodle money, one cellular phone used in the transaction of marijuana, one unit of Toyota Altis bearing plate number BTK777; one (1) Vivo cellphone and 100 rounds of 5.56 ammo.
Appropriate charges for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared against the suspects.
RD De Leon said that PNP PRO3 is continuously conducting proactive operations to invigorate its efforts to wipe out all forms of illegal drugs in order to achieve its quest for a drug-free Central Luzon in line with the directives of PNP Chief Gen. Debold M. Sinas. (RONDA BALITA Online)
