NPA killed in Bulacan


CITY OF MALOLOS – Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director, has confirmed that a member of the New People’s Army was killed in the town of San Ildefonso on Wednesday night.

Caramat identified the fatality as a certain Buddy and the government forces recovered from him a hand grenade and a .38 caliber gun with ammunition.

On the other hand, Maj. Gen. Felimon Santos, commander of the 7th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army said members of the 48th Infantry Batallion and the San Ildefonso police Station conducted a joint operation in Barangay Nabaong Garlang in San Ildefonso town to check on the complaints of residents there about the presence of a group of armed men.

As the government forces approached the area, the team were fired upon that resulted in an armed encounter and the killing of one of the members of the armed group that was later on identified as members of the New People’s Army, the Army general said and added that no casualties were reported on the government side.

It was established that the rebel group was conducting recruitment activities in the area, Santos said. (RONDA Balita Online News)
