BALAGTAS, Bulacan — Two drug suspects landed in jail while P1.1 million worth of marijuana was confiscated in a buy-bust operation in Balagtas on Saturday.
P/Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director identified the suspects as Paolo Licud alias Pao, 21 years old, resident of Brgy San Juan, Balagtas, and Mark John Paul Bateni alias JP, 18 years old, resident of Brgy Tabe, Guiguinto, Bulacan. The two suspects were both students.
Members of the Balagtas police under P/Maj. Restituto Granil conducted the buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan of the said town about 12:10 in the morning.
“Seized from the suspect were five pieces sealed marijuana bricks with an estimated weight of 5.5 kilos worth 1.1 M and one-piece cut opened marijuana bricks,” Bersaluna said.
The suspects are now detained at the Balagtas police station while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied.
Meanwhile, separate buy-bust operations were conducted by the operatives of San Rafael, Marilao and San Ildefonso that resulted to the arrest of three suspects identified as John Ruel Ian Garingo, 30 years old; Albert Corpuz Evangelista, 38; and Virgilio Ponce, 52.
A total of eight plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects during the operation.
Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested drug suspects are now being prepared for filing court.
