CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan — An estimated worth of P1,360,000 and weight of more or less 200 grams of shabu were seized during a buy-bust operation conducted by local police in Brgy. Bulualto, San Miguel town on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 2).
Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, identified the arrested suspect as Gilbert Catiis y Cobarubias, included in the PNP PDEA watch list and a resident of Brgy. Bulualto, San Miguel, Bulacan.
Based on the report of Lt. Col. Voltaire Rivera, town police chief, about 4:15 p.m., a buy-bust operation was conducted on the said barangay wherein an undercover intelligence operative who acted as poseur buyer was able to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected to be shabu.
“The suspect suddenly sensed that he was transacting to a police officer, ran and drew a gun towards the operatives that prompted the latter to defend himself and shot the suspect,” Cajipe said.
He added that the injured suspect was immediately brought to the nearest hospital.
Confiscated during the operation were two big pack of shabu with an estimated weight of 200 grams with standard drug price of P1,360,00, two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, one caliber .45 pistol with magazine inserted, one magazine for caliber .45 with ammunitions, digital weighing scale, small scissor, and one Bajaj motorcycle
Arrested suspect and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for a drug test and laboratory examination while appropriate criminal complaints are being prepared against the suspects.
