Lt. Col. Bernard Pagaduan, city police chief identified the arrested drug suspects as Nelson Rivera, 38 years old, single, resident of Brgy. Authorities were able to recover 8 pieces of the small plastic sachet and 2 pieces of medium size of suspected shabu, weighing about 100 grams, with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P800 thousand, boodle money, weighing scale and drug paraphernalia.

According to Pagaduan, about 9:15 a.m., a joint operation by city police and Provincial Intelligence Branch conducted a buy-bust operation against Nelson Rivera, a known drug pusher and included in the drug watchlist of Meycauayan.

“We have been monitoring the group for about a week and suspect Rivera was only released from the prison about three months ago,” Pagaduan said.

Pagaduan added they were looking into the possibility that the suspects
were members of a syndicate, given the large volume of the seized illegal drugs.

The suspects are now under the custody of the Meycauayan police while a case for violating Republic Act 9165 is being readied against them. (RONDA BALITA Online)
