Police arrested suspect in Brgy. Councilor shooting in Tarlac

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The suspect in the shooting of a barangay councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac was arrested on Thursday by police authorities during a follow-up operation.

It can be recalled that the victim Elias Lacsamana y De Guzman, Barangay Kagawad of Brgy Dutung Matas, Concepcion, Tarlac was shot on his left thigh by two bystanders while walking together with his colleague, Brgy. Councilor Domingo Bulanadi in an unlighted portion in front of the Brgy Hall covered court, Purok 5, Brgy Dutung Matas, Concepcion, Tarlac.

Brgy Councilor Bulanadi who was able to identify one of the suspects as “Tonite Paltado” immediately reported to Concepcion Municipal Police Station and responding personnel launched a follow-up operation which resulted to the arrest of Paltado.

Further investigation revealed that Anthony Paltado y Rodriguez alias “Tonite Paltado” was previously detained at Bicutan Jail for violation of Sec 11 of RA 9165 and was later released.

Appropriate charges for Frustrated Homicide was already filed against the suspect and his still unidentified cohort who is still at large before Tarlac Provincial Prosecutors’ Office docketed under NPS No. III-18-INQ-19A-0087 and was further elevated at RTC Branch 66 Capas under Criminal case number CT19-7535.

“This accomplishment only goes to show that PRO3 is quick in resolving cases and very serious in its campaign against lawlessness, putting criminals behind the bars of justice aside from its stern implementation of its anti-drug drive. Time and again, we encourage the public to report any illegal activities most particularly involving illegal drugs and information or knowledge regarding crimes committed as well as PNP personnel indulging in nefarious activities. We appeal for your support to continue helping us in our fight against lawlessness and illegal drugs. By working together, we will be able to accomplish more,” PRO3 Regional Director P/Chief Supt.
