CITY OF MALOLOS – A policeman kills a man for pacifying his quarrel with his live-in wife in Santa Maria town on Sunday.
Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director, identified the policeman as SPO2 Jeffrey Flores, 47 years old and assigned at Station 11 of the Quezon City Police District and a resident of Block 16 Lot 28 California Hills subdivision, Barangay Caypombo in Santa Maria town while the victim was Joseph Mecina also from the said subdivision.
Spt. Raniel Valones, Santa Maria police chief, reported to Caramat that around 3:30 pm on Sunday Flores was quarrelling with his live-in partner Rissa Mecina, the victim’s sister.
The victim tried to pacify the quarrelling that led to a heated argument that made Flores to get a bolo and hacked the victim who was able to run away but the policeman chased him and upon reaching Block 13 of the said subdivision drew his firearm and shot the victim who was rushed to the rogaciano Mercado Hospital in Santa Maria town but died later while undergoing treatment, Valones said.
Valones added that Flores immediately fled afer shooting down the victim and a manhunt operation is now being conducted by the local police for his apprehension.
