Policewoman in DRT shot herself to death


DONA REMEDIOS TRINIDAD, Bulacan — A 29-year-old policewoman allegedly shot herself to death after having a drinking spree with her army boyfriend at about 10 p.m. on Sunday in here in the mountainous part of this province, a belated report that reached Camp Alejo Santos on Tuesday (Aug. 20).

P/Captain Isabelo Mondejar, DRT chief of police, identified the police officer as P/Cpl. Claire Sagampod, Police Officer assigned in said town was found dead with a gunshot wound on her temple in her house in Brgy. Pulong Sampalok in the said town.

Mondejar said the victim was having a drinking spree with Juli Acedera, 31 years old, the boyfriend of the victim, member of Philippine Army assigned at H48IB based in Brgy. Pulong Sampalok, DRT, and Rizal Ocampo, 24, a friend of the victims, also from the said barangay.

Based on the initial report, a call from a concerned citizen informing that the policewoman committed suicide after having a drinking spree with her friend and boyfriend.

“She was then found out to have sustained a gunshot wound at her right temple which resulted to her death,” Mondejar said.

The police are still investigating the incident if there was a foul play in the incident.

Mondejar said to this writer that the victim had a personal problem that caused to kill herself.

Recovered from the scene was her Glock 17 Gen 4 issued firearm with serial no. PNP26040.
