CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — An alleged drug peddler was killed and eight other drug suspects were arrested in intensified anti-drug operations conducted in this province on Wednesday (Aug. 28).
Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, identified the suspect who was neutralized during operation as alias “Roel”.
Bersaluna said that based on the report, a buy-bust operation was conducted at around 11:30 p.m in Barangay San Roque, Angat town by the local police against the suspect and his cohort.
“The suspects sensed that they were dealing with a police officer that resulted in an encounter. The suspect alias Roel was killed while his cohort, a certain Carlo Moncal, managed to escape,” he said.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, one caliber .38 “paltik” or homemade gun and marked money.
Meanwhile, seven other suspects were arrested by anti-illegal drug operatives of Norzagaray, Obando, San Ildefonso, Calumpit, Bustos, Pulilan, and Hagonoy towns.
Bersaluna identified them as Billy Ray Illegay, Bryan Perez, Rolly Boy Bulaon Jr., Agrifina Alberto, Mark Angelo Sotto, Ace Mariano, and Joseph Cabanilla.
He said that a total of 21 plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects during the operation.
The arrested suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (RONDA Balita Online)
