School classes and government offices in Bulacan suspended due to health risks of ashfall


CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Classes in all levels for private and public schools were suspended on Monday (January 13) by Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando so as to ensure the safety of the students from the health risk brought by Ash falls of Taal Volcano eruption.

As this developed, the governor has also suspended works in government offices in the province on Monday based on the recommendation of the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council.

“However, offices whose functions involved the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/ response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and rendered the necessary services,” Fernando said.

The governor added that work suspension in private offices is left to the sound discretion of their respective management. (RONDA BALITA Online)
