CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Governor Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando ensures food security of Bulakenyos as he leads the preparation and distribution of seedlings and seeds to the 21 towns and three cities in the province on Wednesday (April 15).
The seedlings and seeds were given by the Department of Agriculture in line with the Plant, Plant, Plant Program” or “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa COVID-19” program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration.
The Provincial Agriculture Office led by Gigi Carillo has provided 48,896 seedlings and 245 seeds as assistance from the Bulacan Provincial Government to rural landowners to increase the country’s food adequacy level during the enhanced community quarantine brought about by the COVID-19 health crisis
Each tray contains 128 seeds of tomato, siling panigang, eggplant, okra, mustasa, kalabasa and sitaw.
According to Carillo, it aims to encourage Bulakeños to grow even in the small yard now that the enhanced community quarantine exists.
Fernando on his part said it also supports the Department of Agriculture’s Plant-Plant-Plant Program and does not rely solely on free. It is available free at the city and municipal agriculture offices. (RONDA BALITA Online)
