Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said the progress of work is moving forward as planned on the P15.55-Billion NLEX Harbor Link Project Segment 10.
In his inspection on Thursday, August 16, 2018, Secretary Villar said “NLEX” Harbor Link Project will only be a few months away from completion as we have secured 95 percent of its road right-of-way requirement and construction has reached 75 percent to date.
According to Secretary Villar, planned completion of the Segment 10 mainline spanning 5.58 kilometers from McArthur Highway, Valenzuela to C-3 Road, Caloocan City section is targeted for completion and opening by January 2019.
Its 2.6-kilometers Spur Link from C-3 Road, Caloocan City to R-10, Navotas City, on the other hand, is set for opening by January 2019.
“We are working closely with project concessionaire Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) to ensure we deliver the whole 8.18-kilometers Segment 10 within the second quarter of 2019, said Secretary Villar.
When completed, the 4-lane NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 will help decongest major thoroughfares in Metro Manila specifically EDSA, by providing alternative access of cargo trucks to and from the Port of Manila and NLEX.
The elevated expressway will be able to reduce the travel time from NLEX Valenzuela City to R-10 from 23 to just 11 minutes via Balintawak- EDSA Monumento, and from 26 to just 13 minutes via Balintawak-A. Bonifacio/C3 Road. (RONDA Balita Online News)
