MARILAO. Bulacan — Hundreds of front liners, tenants and affiliates in SM City in this town commit anew to provide quality customer care as they participated in the seminar for caring for customers with special needs.

SM City Marilao through its SM Cares Program on Disability Affairs educated its participants on how to deal and handle customers with disabilities; focusing on the proper ways of communicating and assisting them.

“SM is not just a shopping destination but also a second home to many of our customers. With this, we would like to make their malling experience as pleasurable as possible by creating moments of connection with our customers including people with disabilities” shares SM City Marilao Mall Manager Engr. Emmanuel Gatmaitan.

During the seminar, experts in handling people with disabilities deliver lectures and demonstrations on basic courtesies and other necessities on assisting special customers. Participants were likewise reminded of the equal rights, entitlement and other pertinent laws related to PWDs.

Rosters of speakers were National Council on Disability Affairs Chief Information Officer Rizalio Sanchez and Former President of ADHD Society of the Philippines Pacifico Lee.

SM City Baliwag and SM City San Jose Del Monte, on the other hand, recently celebrated the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week. SM in Baliwag showcased PWD’s talents while SM in San Jose Del Monte opened entrepreneurial and employment opportunities to PWDs by conducting on-site training programs. Both events were made possible in partnership with Local Government of Bulacan, Provincial Council on Disability Affairs and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

Seminars for PWD in SM City San Jose Del Monte and SM City Baliwag will be slated on the last quarter of this year.

SM Cares’ seminar for PWD is not just a testament of SM’s commitment to providing quality customer care but also a step forward in fulfilling the mission of making everyone’s malling experience as enjoyable as possible. (RONDA Balita Online News)
